Judy is a clinical pharmacist and clinical instructor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy, Prior Authorization Department and an Academic Detailer with Illinois ADVANCE. She proudly graduated from UIC College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Judy spent decades in community pharmacy where she provided immunizations, medication therapy management and was a certified, nonsterile compounder. At UIC she works in a managed care position developing clinical based approval criteria for non-preferred medications and adjudicates PA requests in conjunction with Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family services (IL-HFS). Beginning in 2018, she was part of an academic detailing research project, involving a collaborative study between UIC and Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program (IL-PMP). Additional educational programs included,providing Naloxone community pharmacy outreach. She is also involved in creating ACPE approved pharmacy technician continuing education programs offered by UIC’s Office of Continuing Education and Meeting Services (OCEMS). Judy’s interests as a Clinical Outreach Educational Specialist include; CDC guidelines for safe opioid prescribing, opioid alternatives,opioid use disorder (OUD), MyPMP and Naloxone.
