Jonathan Samardzich, PharmD

Jonathan is a clinical pharmacist and clinical instructor with the Medication Review and Academic Detailing department at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Jonathan is also a graduate of UIC, where he received his BS in Biological Sciences and PharmD. He has been practicing pharmacy since 2012 beginning with managing a community pharmacy for 5 years before transitioning to UIC. Jonathan has been trained by experts at NaRCAD where he developed the skills to become an academic detailer. Practicing community pharmacy in an area with high rates of opioid prescribing and overdose has led Jonathan to develop an interest in strategies for mitigating the risk of opioid-related harms.
