Chirag Rathod, PharmD

Chirag is a clinical pharmacist, instructor and academic detailer with the Medication Review and Academic Detailing department at the University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC). He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University in 2012 and has been working at UIC ever since. During his time at UIC, he has been involved in prior authorization, collaborations with the College of Pharmacy, College of Dentistry, and College of Medicine, and teaching Medical Improv to medical and pharmacy students.  His academic detailing efforts include program planning, training staff, creating educational material for detailing, and detailing prescribers. He trained with NaRCAD (National Resource Center for Academic Detailing) in 2019 during their Spring Training Series to develop his skills as an Academic Detailer and is now a national training facilitator with them. His interests include performing improv, teaching medical improv which utilizes the techniques of improvisation to improve communication skills amongst current and future healthcare practitioners and collaborating with prescribers in a variety of settings with a focus on improving overall patient care.
